New Jersey Stars Bantam A White team captures title at the
Haunted Shootout at New England Sports Center
Marlboro, MA-The Bantam A New Jersey Stars White team fought through tough
competition at the Bantam A level Haunted Shootout tournament at New England
Sports Center to take the first place trophy. The Stars reached the top spot
among fourteen teams by beating five tenacious competitors within a grueling
forty-eight hours.
The team posted 19 goals and gave up only one during the five game run to the
championship. Every line contributed to the scoring, while the goaltenders
reached a performance peak, making spectacular save after spectacular save.
In Sunday's semi-final game, the Stars topped fellow NJ club Montclair 4-0
and then went on to win it all with another 4-0 victory over the Westchester
Vipers. At times, the team showed its exhaustion but grittily hung on to make key
defensive plays and find a way to put the biscuit between the wickets. As all
players and coaches noted, it was a true team effort.
